Data Engineer

Permanent employee, Full-time · Remote Bulgaria

Main responsibilities
  • Work across a variety of data platform technologies, including (but not limited to) SQL Server, Hadoop, ElasticSearch, and DynamoDB 
  • Perform statistical analyses using R and Python, uncovering relationships in data and figuring out the best way to predict important customer metrics 
  • Implement large-scale predictive models using tools such as Microsoft R Server and TensorFlow 
  • Build microservices which feed predictions to product teams, allowing them to integrate our predictions into their workflows 
  • Develop at every level of the modern application stack, from data transfer to statistical modeling to service development to UI 
  • Provide feedback to and work directly with the Microsoft SQL Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT) and various Microsoft program managers 
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed  
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a data-related field, such as database administrator, database engineer, data analyst, statistician, or data scientist 
  • Graduate-level knowledge of statistics 
  • Experience with the entire data science lifecycle 
  • Familiarity with either R or Python, particularly around data cleansing and modeling packages 
  • Strong background in statistics and machine learning, as well as some familiarity with a broad base of data platform technologies.
